American Electric Power (AEP), a major investor-owned utility that delivers power to more than five million customers across the U.S., needed a way to showcase its 11-state presence at a major trade event. FrazierHeiby worked with AEP to develop a strategy to engage attendees at CoreNet Global Summit, a top international economic development event.

Our team created an engaging and interactive game at the event that highlighted AEP’s service territory by challenging attendees to toss beanbags into the 11 states on a large vertical map. The map was coupled with the phrase “More than you’d ever expect from a utility company” to emphasize AEP’s economic development offerings across its vast footprint.

Electronic tracking showed that AEP’s booth was one of the most popular at the CoreNet Global Summit. Hundreds of participants played the game, and 150 leads were collected during the event. The company re-used the booth afterward for community programs and fundraisers.
